Dear Theresian Learners and Families,

We joyfully welcome you back to St. Therese School of Marilao, Inc. as we begin another exciting school year! With hearts full of hope and minds ready to learn, we look forward to a year filled with meaningful experiences, academic excellence, and strong community values.

This primer has been prepared to guide every student and family through the most important policies, reminders, and expectations for the year ahead. Please read through it carefully and keep it as your reference throughout the school year.

Getting Started

First Week: Orientation & Transition

Official classes open on June 17, 2026. June 18 is for classroom orientation, June 19 for preparation, and formal classes begin June 22. Let's ease in with positivity and an open mindset!

Appearance

Uniform & Dress Code Policy

Uniform Grace Period: Until July 15, 2026
Students still waiting for their school uniform due to pending orders or tailoring may wear neat and appropriate attire until July 15, 2026. After this date, full uniform compliance is strictly required.

Nameplate Encouraged
While school IDs are not yet available, students are encouraged to wear or display a nameplate, especially new students, to help teachers and classmates get to know them. Further instructions on IDs will be given once available.

Attendance

Attendance & Punctuality Policy

Regular attendance is essential for academic success. Students who are absent excessively may be at risk of failing the school year.

  • No valid reason or excuse letter
  • Results in zero score for missed work
  • Admission slip still required upon return
  • May result in failing grades if excessive

Tardiness
  • Arriving 15 minutes after class starts = half-day absent
  • 15 tardiness allowed per school term
  • Late permit from Principal's Office required
  • Repeated tardiness results in sanctions

Maximum Absences
  • Students may not be absent for more than 20% of required school days
  • Exceeding this limit may result in being dropped
  • Coordinate with your adviser if absences are accumulating

Technology

Gadget Policy

Personal gadgets are strongly discouraged and generally not allowed during regular school days. All classrooms are equipped with television units β€” there is no need for students to bring personal devices to view learning materials.

All classrooms are fully equipped with television units for teacher use. Gadgets may only be used with prior teacher authorization for specific academic activities such as presentations or reporting.

Cellphones and gadgets are personal belongings. The school is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged gadgets and cellphones while on campus.

Behavior

Classroom & Campus Conduct

Every Theresian is expected to behave with dignity and respect at all times β€” in the classroom, hallways, canteen, and all campus areas.

  • Enter in single file, go to assigned seat
  • Greet the teacher upon entry
  • Raise hand to recite, answer, or ask permission
  • No eating or disruptive behavior inside the classroom
  • Wait for teacher to dismiss the class

  • Fall in line and wait your turn in the canteen
  • Use trash cans properly β€” no littering
  • No playing in hallways or quadrangle
  • No purchasing from outside vendors
  • Respect canteen personnel

Group Chat Etiquette
Official grade-level group chats are for school announcements and coordination only. All members β€” students and parents β€” must maintain a respectful and professional tone at all times. Misuse of GCs is subject to disciplinary action.

Respect for School Property & Decorum

Every Theresian is expected to care for and respect all school facilities, materials, and equipment. Our school is a shared space β€” let's keep it clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

Proper Use of School Facilities
  • Students are strictly prohibited from damaging, defacing, or vandalizing any school property
  • Acts of vandalism or destruction will result in disciplinary action β€” including restitution
  • Handle all classroom equipment, furniture, and school materials with care at all times
  • Report any damaged equipment or facilities to your class adviser immediately

Care for the Environment
  • Dispose of trash in proper bins β€” no littering anywhere on campus
  • Leave classrooms clean and orderly after use
  • Turn off lights, fans, and AC after class
  • Pick up litter and put it in the trash can

  • Maintain proper behavior in all campus areas at all times
  • Walk β€” do not run β€” in hallways and corridors
  • Speak in a respectful and moderate tone at all times
  • Observe quiet conduct near offices and other classrooms

  • Key areas of campus are CCTV-equipped for everyone's safety
  • Recordings support school discipline and child protection
  • Students are expected to behave appropriately at all times, on and off camera

For Parents

Parent & Guardian Responsibilities

Parents and guardians are our most important partners in education. Your active involvement and consistent support make all the difference in your child's growth and success.

  • Attend all homeroom meetings and school-wide parent assemblies
  • Pick up report cards personally every grading period
  • Monitor your child's attendance and academic standing regularly
  • Communicate changes in your child's health or situation to the class adviser promptly
  • Support the school's policies on uniform, attendance, and gadget use at home
  • Report any concerns about your child's welfare to the class adviser or administration immediately
  • Respect the school's official communication channels β€” use GCs and school contact numbers
  • Personally coordinate with the office for any school concerns requiring action or documentation
